Agency Membership Terms & Conditions
Before submitting your application, please read the following Terms and Conditions that apply to agency membership with Big I Illinois.
Agency membership is available to insurance agencies consisting of either Illinois licensed insurance producers organized as sole proprietorships or business entity who support Big I Illinois objectives. Membership is by agency; therefore each agency is entitled to one vote.
Application for membership is subject to the approval of the Big I Illinois Board of Directors. By submitting your application, you (the agency contact) certify your premium volume is, and shall continue to be, written with companies adhering to the principles of the American Agency System. You further certify your dues have been accurately computed according to the dues schedule as shown on this application and certify the information contained in the application is true and correct. You authorize Big I Illinois and/or its agents to verify any of the information contained in the application.
To be eligible to be an Agency Member of Big I Illinois, an insurance agency doing business as an individual, partnership, corporation or other form of business must meet the following criteria:
be licensed as required by the State of Illinois to market and sell the insurance and financial services products it offers;
maintain such licenses in good standing;
engage in any or all types of insurance business with the ability to represent or place insurance with multiple carriers;
meet all other membership eligibility requirements of the Association.
Big I Illinois, Big I/IIABA, and Trusted Choice logos can only be used in a manner that is professional, consistent with maintaining the Association’s good will and reputation. These logos cannot be used in any way that is false or misleading, mischaracterizes the relationship between the Associations and the party displaying the logo, or violates any law/regulation/ordinance or the rights of others. The Association expressly reserves the right to revoke the right of any party to use the logos if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the use is inconsistent with the requirements and/or spirit of these rules, is otherwise not in the best interest of the Associations or for other good cause.
Membership may be terminated:
if payment of annual dues is delinquent for more than sixty days;
if the members' license or registration is revoked by final administrative decision of the State of Illinois after all rights to administrative review and appeal have been exhausted;
if the member resigns;
if two-thirds of the members of the Board present and voting, vote to suspend or expel after full hearing of a written complaint filed by any Big I Illinois member in good standing. No Board member shall consider a complaint where she or he is directly interested in the complaint.
A member whose membership is terminated forfeits all rights and interest in any Big I Illinois, Big I/IIABA, and Trusted Choice property, including use of any copyrighted symbol, logo or mark belonging to the corporation or licensed to it, and shall have no claim for refund of dues paid.
Associate Membership Terms & Conditions
Before submitting your application, please read the following Terms and Conditions that apply to associate membership with Big I Illinois.
Associate membership is available to insurance companies operating under American Agency System principles as well as other non-insurance licensed individuals, or firms, directly affiliated with the insurance business.
Big I Illinois logos can only be used in a manner that is professional, consistent with maintaining the Association’s good will and reputation. These logos cannot be used in any way that is false or misleading, mischaracterizes the relationship between the Associations and the party displaying the logo, or violates any law/regulation/ordinance or the rights of others. The Association expressly reserves the right to revoke the right of any party to use the logos if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the use is inconsistent with the requirements and/or spirit of these rules, is otherwise not in the best interest of the Associations or for other good cause.
