Cancellation Policies

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, Big I Illinois meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution (both now and in the future) of registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities by Big I Illinois and other third parties, including but not limited to the venue, the host city, and the host CVB. Your registration may include technology that monitors your activities throughout the meeting, such as session attendance and booths visited.

Big I Illinois cancellation policies vary by event and education class type.

CE Classes

To request a transfer/cancellation, please email the education department. All transfer/cancellation requests must be in writing. For additional questions, contact us by email or call (800) 628-6436.

The cancellation and refund policy for Big I Illinois continuing education classes will be as follows:

Students may transfer to a different class or agency may substitute a different attendee at any time prior to the start date of the class without penalty. Classes/students may be transferred one time without incurring cancellation fees as outlined below.

Cancellation fees apply as follows:

  • Cancellation/Refund requests received 7 to 14 days prior to the start date will incur a fee totaling 25% of the registration fee. Transferring to another Big I Illinois course will be permitted at no charge if requested before the start date.

  • Cancellation/Refund requests received 1-6 days prior to the start date will incur a fee totaling 50% of the registration fee. Transferring to another Big I Illinois course will be permitted at no charge if requested before the start date.

After the start date of the course, no refunds or transfers will be allowed.
No call/no show – refund requests will not be honored in this circumstance. Transfer requests not made prior to the start of the class will not be honored.

Pre-Licensing Classes

The Illinois Insurance Pre-Licensing Program has developed copyrighted material for pre-licensing classes. Because of this, the cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

Refund request received one week prior to class.

Full refund will be issued as long as they have not yet received, or returned, any materials that have been mailed, such as hard copies of the pre-licensing book. Failure to return materials will result in $50 taken off the refund.

Refund request received less than one week prior to class.

No refund will be issued, but fee can be transferred to a future class.

Completion Certificate

In order to receive your certificate, which will enable you to sit for the State licensing exam, you will have to:

Take a 25-question quiz per line of authority (Property, Casualty, Life, Accident & Health) and pass with a 70% (18 out of 25).

Attend 7 ½ hours of classroom instruction for each line of authority (Property, Casualty, Life, Accident & Health) that you have enrolled in will be tracked through attendance check-ins throughout the 7 ½ hours of instruction.

Annual Events

Refunds for individual registrations for Big I Illinois annual events/conferences (Legislative Day, Sales & Leadership Conference, CONVO, Farm Agents Council) will only be given to cancellation requests received 14 business days prior to the event. Cancellation requests should be sent to info@ilbigi.org.

Cancellations or changes to exhibit booth registrations will be subject to the cancellation policy outlined on the exhibit booth registration form for that event.

Local Events

Refunds for individual registrations for Big I Illinois local events, including, but not limited to regional events and local legislative events, will only be given to cancellation requests received by close of business 14 business days prior to the event, unless otherwise noted on registration form. Cancellation requests should be sent to info@ilbigi.org.

Safety Precautions

Big I Illinois will honor cancellation requests due to COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.
